Roland PD 7 and 8 -any difference

Someone just suggested that I get some used Roland PD 7 or 8 dual zone pads. Any difference between the two or are they essentially equal?

They will only work as dual zone in the cymbal inputs. Single zone only in the Snare or Tom inputs. PD-7 is the older of the 2. PD-7 7.5", PD-8 8.5"
