Fourth Cymbal Recommendation

My 2Box kit is en route and, barring any unforeseen problems, I'd like to pick up a fourth cymbal (crash).  Any recommendations out there?  I'm thinking dual-trigger and it needs to be as close to silent as possible (so probably rubber).  TIA!

hi

you dont really need a 2 zone cymbal , as it s just possible tu run 3 multizone cymbals at the same time ... the fourth one is gonna be a rim from a tom splitted using a stereo jack to mono jack ...

I use a Yamaha PCY80 and a roland CY-5 , and they work fine for this purpose...

Thanks for the quick response.  I'm looking at dual zone because I'd like to be able to play the bell of the cymbal as well.  I'm confused - why would I split one of the channels?  Wouldn't I just utilize the cym3 input?  I meant fourth cymbal including hi-hat (one in addition to the hi-hat, crash, ride pads that come with the Drumit).  Perhaps there was some confusion there.

ok... then its ok ... you can have 3 cymbals + a hihat ...

Thanks for the CY recommendation - is the only difference between the CY5 and CY8 the ability to choke?  Looks like a minimal price difference ATM.  Also, how would one go about getting an additional cymbal stand that will fit onto the MK2 rack?  From 2Box?  Aftermarket?  TIA.

CY5 is just smaller than the CY8 ... both are 2zone ( piezo + switch )

for the clamp and holder , go for noname stuff ... it s more than enough for a plastic cymbal ;

for example , roland is selling a kit for 75â,¬ that wont be 3 times better ...:)  http://www.musicstore.com/fr_FR/FRF/Batteries/Hardware-batteries-lectroniques/Roland-Cymbal-Mount-MDY-12-/art-DRU0020480-000#FullDetails

check on the forum , some people have good results with modding a YAMAHA pcy135 .

those cymbals have a bell switch , making bell triggering more accurate ( using CYcup mode on the 2box module )  This way , you ll get 2 zones : Bell and  bow , but no choke  .

If you are short on money , you can try this one : http://www.thomann.de/fr/millenium_mps400_stereo_becken_pad.htm   it s a clone of the cY8 for less money ...

there s a lot to reed on this here and in the manual... so have a nice weekend ..

Awesome.  Thanks for the info - and sorry for the somewhat duplicate topic.

I have two of those cheap Millenium stereo cymbal pads from Thomann as extra crash cymbals, they work great!  :) They cost like 400â,¬ each.

Remember that choke will only with the CYM-inputs.
