Hey guys, i am having a small problem with one of my 2box cymbals. It seems there maybe a wiring issue with it because if i increase the threshold to 40 it starts randomly triggering without me hitting it. You think this is a loose solder issue before i take the box apart? Anybody else have this before or have any advice?

Nico

Hi, try swapping the cable or cymbal or use another input before opening.

When you peel back the rubber to examine the cymbal also check the metal serrated edge. That edge metal is what triggers the edge sound when it is struck and contacts the metal underneath. So if one or more of the teeth get bent enough so they are barely contacting the metal underneath it could cause that kind of triggering symptom. There should be a slight gap between the teeth and the base underneath, never touching until you hit the edge or squeeze/choke it.
I could tell you where to stick that piezo! :D ;)

Ok thanks! I did also check that but going to double check because they did seem bent at one point.

Cymbals are covered with a rubber sleeve, but there is also a rubber rim protecting the edge.

Check this topic, the rim must be in place else you might damage those teeth.
