I switched from the TD-20X also ... and am not sorry at all .... Welcome to the forum!  8) J
Hello from France!
I'm quite new to this forum too, even if I have already posted, just skipped this section, sorry! :p

I sold my TD-20X module as well but kept all the pads, cymbals and rack (Roland is the best for quality pads to me), and it's amazing with my new 2Box module (with sd extension mod + 32gb sdhc)!

2Box forum is almost dead in France (in fact all e-drums forums lol), so I'm pleased to have found such an interesting one!

See you!

David

Hi everyone

Just set up my 2Box kit yesterday, and although I'm still finding my way around it at the moment, I can safely say that the sounds are amongst the best I have ever heard from any e-drumming equipment...!!

Really pleased. :)

Just a quick question to canvass opinion on - regarding the snare mesh head - do you crank up the tension to get a more realistic snare response, or amend your acoustic kit (assuming you have one..!!) snare tensions to mirror the 2Box..? I have an acoustic kit for gigging with and intend to use the 2Box for mucho practice at home!!

Thanks, and really enjoy the forum, by the way!

Martin

I always crank it up to get the best triggering.

m66hill

Thanks for the tip - I'll crank up the head and see how I get on!!!

Hey, my name's Eliot and I live in Liverpool in the UK.

Just got myself a 2box module and cymbal set which I'm using with my old Pearl Export kit, which is now fully electric  :D

lee_whitehead

hi peeps, new here - just registered ahead of the arrival of my 2box kit arriving on Thursday, I have been thinking about getting back into drumming after a 7 year absence having drummed for some 12 years before that.

This is my first venture into edrums having had a huge Pearl kit before.

No doubt I will be asking questions in future, so thanks to all in advance!

Hi Everyone

I was on here 6 months ago but no idea what I used for my name.. Anyhoo.. I have been so close to getting a Roland TD30 to go with my Jobeky kit.. Ive been on the ROland Vdrum forum for a while and its an amazingly supportive group but the more I learn, the more im tempted to get myself a 2box brain..

Ive seen just about every clip on you tube now and think its the way forward.. But I wanted to apologise in advance because when I order it this week, Im afraid Ill be here asking for help to

1. Expand it like Jman told me I could do on the Vdrum forum
2. Load my BFD Eco samples across to it if possible
3. erm.........

So, there it is.. Hi everyone and I hope to be of some use as Ive had many Roland modules and have a Jobeky kit with Yamaha PCY130s, PCY155, Roland CY15, CY14, CY5 x 3

Just need a module to start it off.. I bought the Jobeky with a Roland TD9 and hated it.. Sold it 2 weeks after I bought it..

Welcome to the forum Kev!
Just so you get an idea of how it works as far as using VST programs to build drum sample "dsnd's" for the 2Box module:
Here are a few videos Brian made concerning building BFD based drum sample dsnds for 2Box:
http://www.youtube.com/user/2BoxSoundCreation?feature=mhee
Info on DsoundTool site for BFD as well as Superior Drummer there:
http://www.shortestpath.se/dsoundtool/manual/bfd2.html
That info so you won't think it is just a couple mouse clicks .... it does require a bit of time and effort.
But the results can be astounding.
Card extender tutorial here:
http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,991.0.html
I have some of the SDHC card extenders here:
http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php?topic=1445.0
and another source for the card extenders from a forum member 6828:
http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,1056.0.html
Oh, and a thread about higher capacity SDHC cards compatible with the module here:
http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,1136.0.html
I could tell you where to stick that piezo! :D ;)

Nico

Hi all,

A lot of useful info here ! Made the step from Roland to 2box, actually the white pearl Diamond kit that member ronniev sold long time ago.
Took some time to set it up to my liking, updating the OS to 1.24 made a huge difference. Looking forward to future updates and new sounds.

Regards,
Nico
