Problem with kick drum

Hi all, yesterday I had troubles with the kick drum mistriggering. When struck the sounds were slight. The day before they worked fine. Now they are not working at all.

I have tried different cables (ones that work on other toms) - no change.

I have tried triggering the kick sound using the toms - it works.

So i attach photos hoping someone could tell me the best fix.

Please note I have had this problem before, and (via the shop and the Australian 2box rep) I replaced the trigger. You can actually see in the photo where I have reconnected the wires (using cable connectors). This has worked for about 5 months or so, very well.

So I suspect it is a problem with the trigger again.

If so, are the replacements available readily?
If so where? I am in Australia (Brisbane)
Any specification requirements etc.
Also is there any better location for the trigger (assuming it is being damaged by the sticking of the beater)??
What are the instructions for replacing (I forget what I did last time - I am getting old). :-[

Thanks for responding.

hmmmm i notice some slight indentations on the piezo, i wonder if that is the problem?

Also I note a quote from Jman from a previous "Kick Drum Problem" post I didn't find originally...

Quoteyeah, the wires can break loose from the piezo very easily. It is also possible that you will see no damage at all. I had one that way. I knew there was a problem with the piezo though, because I have seen those symptoms in the past. The piezo is a 27MM piezo. I just soldered a new piezo in...reattached the foam and it is perfect, probably better than it was new actually. From all the problems I read about on on this forum with kicks, I would say ... it is only a couple. bucks at most for piezos ... very simple to replace with a little bit of soldering skill. It really only takes a matter of minutes to change a piezo. And something that edrummers should concider. Trust me, if you play edrums for many years you will run into a piezo eventually that needs to be replaced, instead of waiting days or weeks for a repair, I would not even hesitate to repair my own ... obviously not my first rodeo though.

Pretty sure bet it is the piezo again ...  or the wires where they are soldered to the piezo.
I could tell you where to stick that piezo! :D ;)

i recall someone mentioning that the piezo is better relocated - i think maybe to the bottom of the kick - can anyone confirm this?

this is the mk1 version, cables were not scotched like that, and in mk2 version all is excellent. so do not worry, 2box is the best drumset by far. have faith in sweden (and swedish girls)
