Helping out with some other musos.. audio tracks using the 2Box

Just thought I would post up some tracks I am doing for a mate's album. He is turning 60 this year asked me if I would help him out to make this... something he has always wanted to do.

Its not mindblowingly awesome, but I like that I get to make the drum tracks... my way! Something I haven't done a lot of in the time I have been playing. Mostly been a covers drummer, and this making up stuff is harder than it looks!

Most of the time I'll follow the bass player, keeps it tight that way, when you have a good player to follow that is.

Anyway, like I said, just something I wanted to share... listen if you want to... up to you. There will be more I'll add as they get done, but only 2 for now.

Nothing "electronic" drum sounding about that .... nice playing and sound Rob! What HH are you using? and other instruments? Like I say, nothing that would make me think electronic drums at all ... I dare say, one heck of a lot more realistic and convincing than your typical Roland sounds!

Cheers Jerry... yeah mate I totally agree. That is part of the main reason I went to 2Box.

I can't remember exactly what HH I am using, I'll find out and let you know. Same goes for the kit presets.

Hmm... so I wasn't quite happy with "Heart Full Of Soul"

So I redid the drum track. I reckon this one is a lot better.

I have altered the kit since making that track sorry, but the only thing different is the snare so:-

Kick: Wal_22_Kick_Ps_80  0.0 tuning
Snare: EQ_Hi_14_Snr_Amb  +1.8 tuning
Tom 1: X_Shell_08_Emp 0.0 tuning
Tom 2: X_Shell_10_Emp 0.0 tuning
Tom 3: X_Shell_14_Emp 0.0 tuning
Tom 4: X_Shell_16_Emp 0.0 tuning
Hats: AAX_XCEL_14_HiHat -0.7 tuning
CYM 1: AZ_16_Crash +0.8 tuning
CYM 2: Swiss_PR_22_Ride -0.7 tuning
CYM 3: AZ_16_Crash -1.3 tuning

All other cymbals are custom ones I have made to run on single zones.

I didn't remember a stock 2Box Hi Hat sounding that good. I have recorded with a stock 2Box kit though and it did sound good.

I did Bass and Drums on this new one... I am rather proud of what I did. Its called "terrorist" is is a lot more "Rock"
