That's interesting and probably the smart move forward from the stone age setup / systems we use now. This way you can skip MIDI setup and go directly to VST. I guess the next logical step is then possibility to record MIDI and drum tracks on the fly. That's something I'd want for Drumit 6.

Looks like a nice concept... touchscreens are cool!!   but what will the latency be ?

Not a real threat for the 2box module , only 2 audio outputs ....

another IPAD based concept but from behringer ... :) :) :) :)

And the quality of the Ipad sound chip who must expose the inside sounds ...

...imagine something in between this and the Alesis DMDOCKconcept ...

IPAD used as a user interface ,   sounds and system powered by DSP inside the dock , plus possibility to trig  some sounds from the ipad as a "plug in" , record or playback audio and midi ....

..... and even modify and transfer "DSOUNDS" to the modules SD with an IOS DSOUNDTOOL version ....;);););)

....  best of both worlds !!!

... just an IPOD port should be a nice display  for drumitVI ;) ;);););)

Just saw this. This Mackie mixer looks really awesome. This version can only record one (mix) track. I'm sure future updates will enable multitrack recording as well. This is a game changer for sure.

I m quite sure this kind of concept for a Drum module is the way to go ....

.... a totally new product with built in   user interface like this would cost a lot more to produce than the add of an IPad ... and no ressources taken from  the modules audio processing ....

This one is quite nice too along with the iPad installed:

Behringer XENYX iX2442USB
Premium 24-Input 4/2-Bus Mixer with iPAD Docking Station, XENYX Mic Preamps & Compressors, KLARK TEKNIK Multi-FX Processor, Wireless Option and USB/Audio Interface

VERY DIFFERENT PRODUCTS !!!!!

this one it s like if you have an ipad plugged to normal behringer console ( stereo in /stereo out )....

exept it powers the IPAD and provide a very few hardware buttons to control  the tablet ...

Obviously no utility because you cant take the ipad with you and controle  the console   ..... no possibility to recall whole console scenes ....

just a shitty sounding desk with an ipad  on top....

Line6 released a similar product. Seems even more powerful than Mackies mixing desk. Looks very promising (the price not so much).

Maybe a mod can rename the topic to "Ipad / tablets controlled gear" or something like that.
