Hi,

this is a MKII:

And this is a MKI:

What is different?

- Size of vertical bars (rack)
- Snare stand
- Bass drum (and beater)
- Hihat

Also they changed the way the rims attach to the toms and snare. MK1 had 3 rubber O-rings, MKII has 5 O-rings.
I could tell you where to stick that piezo! :D ;)

i think the hihat is the same between MK I.5 and MK II.

another difference between the MK I and MK II kits is that the rim triggers on the pads are held in place by 5 o-rings instead of only 3. and the rim trigger hoop material has changed to a less brittle black plastic (before it was a clear polycarbonate plastic, and before that aluminium).

thanx Guys this helps a lot ,i am pretty sure i have an MkII but the rubber pads under the bassdrum pedel ,frame and hihat pedel are black and the kick tennis ball thing is also black.

would of made life a little easier if they had just printed MKII on the set .

cheers  jae

Simply update the module to the latest OS and you have the latest "Brain"

Guys I got a hybrid kit, according to what you have posted above. I have a kick drum that is Mk I and the Mk II rack and all (well I assume the toms are Mk II, though i haven't checked). Do you have any significant problems with the Mk I kick drum, that the Mk II rectified? Is there a post in here that talks about the Mk I and any photos of the trigger setup etc? Wiring?

Hi,

most people say that MKII bassdrum is less noisy than MKI and not as bouncy. You can easily convert a MKI into a MKII by removing the black plate and repositioning the sensor if you want. See this thread:

The kit I received in Canada last December was the MKII kit except that it included the MKI bass drum pad. I just received an additional cymbal and related hardware yesterday that I had ordered back in December. Was a hastle but I am glad I finally received the additional cymbal. I believe there were communication problems between the store where I ordered it and the Canadian distributor.

Cheers!
