according to the manual, the globalconfig.dcfg file is an "Index file, which is required for Mac operating systems" so I don't see how it's related to other settings...

2box is mostly known in Europe, europeans don’t like facebook that much, americans don’t know 2box, ergo no need for one...

Yeah, that’s where 2box recorded their sounds, they created their website in 2012 and never updated it again ;D a bit like the 2box website ;D

Yes they are mono unbalanced, you can use a trs cable though but wont give you any additional benefits since an unbalanced out stays unbalanced even if you plug a balanced cable :D

This problem has gone away in the drumit 3, I can confirm it and reconfirm it. SD3 sounds awesome.

What was the purpose of this response?  :)

I will elaborate more next year  :P

Both sides of the board will be hard since the display is glued to the case, but there's some significant differences in the 2 boards for sure.

I remember 8 years ago when I got my first drumit 5 module, I had a beautiful Roland set with the pd-x pads and was so dissapointed that it was not possible to use them with the module, the rim-head separation wasn't there and ended up selling the roland pads and bought the 2box pads.

Now, 8 years after I just cannot say how satisfied I am with the drumit 3 and its compatibility with the roland pd-108, 128 series which have a much hotter rim hahaha, the LXTR is just magic and now I have clean separation between head and rim, trigger a loop on the rim and don't be afraid to trigger a spock cymbal assigned to the head. Works on the snare and toms, and even if you can't get it right on the toms it doesn't matter since you are going to split the input to use another cymbal or pad.

Huge selling point for 2box, I just wish they were more aggressive in the market, specially in the US, nobody knows them there...

My D3 arrived last week and I used it at gig on the weekend.. Loved it. The kits sounds are amazing. Its just a cover band so I changed kits between kits 2, 3 and 4. Not time to really get into it yet but it is amazing so far.

Which pads are you using the module with?

I was looking at this. Unfortunately, it seems there isn't a simple way to achieve it. This is what I found:
Wow, very detailed explanation thanks. Well I think I just get a bt-1 and split another tom haha.

For those using SDSE there is a setting to choose for building the Velocity Switching snare X-stick/Rimshot when you are building DSND's. Just thought I would mention that since this thread goes back to times prior to all the latest features in SDSE. J

Yeah, I used that and works perfectly with the snares from SD3 but I wanted to do the same with the drumit 3 stock 3 zone snares since I don't use a yamaha 3 zone pad.

On the BT-1 Greg is using that in his recent demo vids: Check this thread:  http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php?topic=1898.0

On snare rim dsnds for both Cross-stick and rim shot: That is possible. It requires building a new dsnd. I have built a few from VSTs .... what you do is use all cross-stick WAVs for velocities except the highest 2 or 3 velocity layers .... for those highest layers you use the rim shot WAVs. You can actually do this with a 2Box stock dsnd by using Dsoundtool to split the .dsnd file and rebuilding it ..... since I have a little time this morning ... I might build one for you to try out.
Still, if you are familiar with Roland modules this is exactly what is happening with their snare rims ... it is a Velocity triggered change, lower velocities Xstick, higher velocities Rim shot. So it isn't perfect. I prefer to assign a Xstick sound to a different pad myself for songs where I need it .... that way there are no surprises. J

Can you elaborate on how you created dsnds with rimshot on the highest velocities and xstick in the lower using the stock sounds? I want to do this with the drumit 3 stock 3 zone snares. I open one in dsoundtool, splitted it, click generate dsnd with many samples per wav but i cannot select more than one file at a time...

@welshsteve: wich midi note is sent when hitting the xstick zone of your yamaha snare? In the drumit 3 Manual it says nothing about the 3 Zone Snares midi notes, only for the 2 zones center and rimshot (1 and eight) but I just opened a 3 zone stock snare in dsoundtool and it shows the xstick as zone 7!
