10mm Allen keys seem to work  ;D
The ones I got have a very long arm which I think may be useful for my planned kit setup - however the 'short' arm is almost too short - it will just reach the far side of the 'ball joint' in the clamp - but only just.
If anyone else is looking at these - check the lengths of both 'halves' of the allen key to make sure they will work.....

The DDrum Legacy / Re: dd4 sounds on drumit.....

Thanks for the confirmation - that's what I assumed (guessed!) was happening....
I also looked at the midi file, and the documentation shared over on the ddrum forum, but failed to make any sense from it.

I've been trying to think of a way to try and interrupt the saving process and get the files moved/renamed before they are overwritten.... But without access to the sourcecode for the tool, I'm not sure we can resolve this.

Thanks Anders, yes I have already done a similar process - I have the kick, snare (with rim) and toms in a drumit5 kit ready to test (as soon as I get my kit assembled). I haven't looked at any of his cymbal samples yet....
I uncovered a potential 'fault' with the Rim sound - the old ddrum4 tool plays 8 variations, but when extracted I only get 1 WAV.
http://unofficially-ddrum.proboards.com/thread/478/dd4-wav-converter-link
I think the metadata in the midi file is not 100% correct, and this is confusing the wav tool.
I did look at the documentation on how the midi files were decoded, but I was unable to use this to resolve the issue

It would be good to know if we are 'allowed' to share these sounds..... As I remember it the signature sounds were freely available of the old ddrum4 website (as was the tool to audition them) - so I don't see that Clavia could claim any infringment for anyone using them?

Now if only we could download a tool to allow me to play like Mel as well...…  :)

Thanks Anders...
yes, I have been looking at the Lustark software, I was just checking what I can get out of the 'free' software available first….
I'm still not sure if I will put my kits into a kit bank (and use multiple kit banks if necessary), or set up my kits in individual files.... It's great to have the flexibility of different options (and I could imagine that if I was gigging the drumit, then multiple kit banks would be really useful - especially if I was playing with multiple different bands) - but at home in the studio it probably doesn't make much difference.

But what an amazing kit - I'm only playing with the brain at the moment (still putting my kit together) - but this everything my old ddrum4 was, but many times better  ;D ;D

I have drumit editor 1.0.6 - was there ever a later version (that supported single kits)??

Fair enough - I guess the best option is for you to wait and see if you can get any interest for the whole kit (or at least the whole rack)….
If not then let me know and I'll either make you a very silly offer for the whole rack, or we can negotiate prices for individual items......

Hi Steve!
What condition is the bass pedal? What sort of price (posted to mainland UK)?
I might be interested in some other rack bits if the prices are right.....

Excellent! - Thanks Anders.....
Found a few people selling touch up paints etc. on ebay in RAL2009 - that will be ideal....

The DDrum Legacy / Re: dd4 sounds on drumit.....

Thanks Anders - that's really useful (previously I used the original ddrum4 tool to preview the sounds and 'capture' those using a normal audio recording tool from the internal sound card - and then edit them into individual WAV files).
I've already started looking at the drumit tool (and the others from Lustark Software) so I'll see what I can produce - if I get anything good working I'll post back here.
Thanks again!

I aiming to build my d5 kit around a 2 sided rack and 3 verticals
I'm looking at options to get the two horizontals at the same height.... I've seen these images:

Obviously the first one is for a Yamaha hex rack, but hopefully you get the idea. I'm not sure if the Gibraltar one allows the angle between the two horizontals to be adjusted....

I've looked on the Gibraltar site, but can't see anything similar. Anyone any idea what this type of clamp may be called??

e-drum DIY / modifications / 2box Clamp L-Rods
July 29, 2018, 07:41:54 AM
Some of the 2box clamps I've bought (second hand) are missing the L-Rods for the toms.
I've found replacements on dv247, but I'm looking at the ones I have and thinking 'they look like 10mm allen keys'.....

Has anyone tried using an allen key as a replacement? I've found some 'long' allen keys on ebay that might be useful for more flexibility in drum placement......

The DDrum Legacy / dd4 sounds on drumit.....
July 29, 2018, 07:39:03 AM
Hi all - I was a (very happy) ddrum4 owner for a number of years, and am now building a kit around drumit5....
I still have the ddrum4 sound tool and samples (and I have used some of my favorite sounds from there in software samplers over the last few years)

Has anyone tried taking some of the dd4 sounds and converting them to the drumit?
I know many of them only have a limited number of sample layers (8?) - is it worth the effort of converting these to drumit, or will the lack of sample levels make the end result disappointing?

I always loved the Mel Gaynor kits on my dd4, and would love to be able to play them again  :)

e-drum DIY / modifications / What colour orange?
July 29, 2018, 07:35:07 AM
I know many of you have re-painted your Drumit's to different colours, but does anyone have any details on the 'drumit orange' colour - anywhere I can get some matching paint for touching up scratches etc.?

Starting to put together my custom kit, will post details in the next few weeks / months once it comes together....
