These are all great ideas, thanks.

You should see a whole bunch of new sub-forums!

There's also now a link to the Calendar.

If you have any events you want me to add, please send me a private message and I'll try and add them accordingly.
Please give me plenty of notice!
Cool, thanks Tom ...

I always thought (heard somewhere) that it co-operates with the FSR rim trigger
Anyway: the Roland cones are in the centre, hence it works (?)

On Roland modules there was Pos sensing back on the TD-10 TDW-1 for single zone toms ... the errant idea that the Pos sensing (at least for Roland modules/pads) needs two zones has been posted so many times on the net that many believe that is the case .... but it isn't. Now one thing that is necessary for Pos Sensing on Roland modules is the correct piezo polarity... a simple thing though .... if positional sensing doesn't work with tip wired to piezo ceramic and sleeve wired to piezo brass .... switch the wiring opposite and that'll get it...

Positional Detection with Roland modules uses only one piezo. And yes it is a sort of wave analysis thing.

Still have plenty of tweaking to do ... to get my sounds arranged on all my instruments, but I have a pretty good start going. I had planned to split my tom inputs and did.... But I also wanted to get all my toms tweaked and performing well on both head and rim zones before doing the split. I have a few drum kits already converted from A to E ... The Drop in Pan conversion that I was using last on my TD-20X ..... didn't work worth a crap with the Drumit Five.... But my previous style conversion works excellent ... very little tweaking involved.

After the video, I went ahead and split my tom inputs... I now have 5 toms plus 2 more splashes and a China working on the tom inputs.... working wonderfully actually... Nough Said...

here's a quick vid I did of the 2Box and Rollie .... "Getting Along Together"  :o

Anyone know ..... Would it be possible via Software update to add the MIDI feature to be able to access a second kit? Or is that beyond software?

Well, I'd look inside too.... here is the jack inside:

Under that it connects to the pad/piezo:

could be a wire has come loose and needs to be resoldered.
If you are concerned about warranty, send it in.... J

Nope. The ddrum4 had some octoban samples but they were 1-shot

Thanks Put .... octoban samples .... remain pretty elusive :'(

Thanks for the pics and info Jman.

Does the module use an SDHC card or an SD card? What brand and Class did you use for a card?

Hi Rcprod: SDHC. I used the exact same card as Markuz. I wanted something I already knew would work. Trascend SDHC Class 10 32GB ... Here is the one like I bought:

Hi Jman,

Do you have an article number of the extension cable?
This is a great option.

Hi Remi: Got it on eBay.... comes from China, ships worldwide, very reasonbly priced ... and it came much sooner than I expected .... couple weeks after I ordered if I remember right. Good seller, good communication too... emailed me shipping info next day....  that was my experience anyway:

Hi Tom .... just a newbie here.... A DIY edrum section might be nice. People that mod that MK1 kick into an MKII kick .... exterior SDHC module DIY ..  everything from fixing your stock Drumit 5  drum/cymbal to building your own pads, etc... I know over at the other forum I'm on the DIY section has become very popular... Jerry

I'm now a card carrying member of the 2Box External SDHC Memory Slot Club!!! Got my gear yesterday, but had to work so only got to fool with it some last night.... till 2:00 AM. Then up at 6:00 AM ... off to work .... Tonight I did the modification... I highly recommend it... more horsePower, much, much faster to load sound files via card reader... Drag n Drop, baby.... love it. I have loaded every extra sound file from 2Box ... and still only at 15% capacity. I attached my card slot to the outside of the module with some super strong ... Killer Red 2 sided tape. I also put my original 4GB 2Box card back in the slot to test ... so I can access USB through the module if I wanted to .... just by slipping a 4GB card in... so really there is plenty of advantage to having the card accessible ... in my mind anyway.

Haven't had much time to actually play yet.... but I knew I wanted to do this first thing!! :drum2:
off to bed....later, J

hey there, you should select all the files and folders from inside your backup DRUMIT FIVE folder, and copy all those onto the new card.

you definitely need the drumit.dkit file (it is the file that contains all the drumkits and their settings, including which actual samples are used for each drum kit), and the Drumit110.bin file (that is the firmware). not sure about the .metadata file but you may as well copy that too...

Perfect .... worked like a charm. Thanks, J

Quick question ..... OK I want to create a 32GB card now .... I have made a couple backup copies of my Drumit Five via USB on my desktop ..... One I just put all the files from the module on my desktop.... the other I right clicked on the Drumit Five drive and copied that to my desktop.... seems like a simple question ..   Should I just copy the folder that says DRUMIT FIVE to my 32GB card (card is formatted correctly already) ..... Or should I take each individual file/folder from the backup and place those in the 32GB card ....

In other words should I have the DRUMIT FIVE (Outer) folder in the card or just the individual folders and files? Also do I put the sound files plus the .metadata file, drumit.dkit file and the Drumit110.bin file on the card? ..... or just the sound files?

Thanks in advance, Jerry

(I also did the OS update from 1.04 to 1.10 ..... man is that simple..... took only a few seconds ....)
