Yes, and that would allow to use a reverb on one of the two sounds.

IMO , layering sounds and "fixing " the sound velocity dont have the same function .

Layering sounds helps fot "fattening" a week snare sound or could add some "room ambience " to a sound that you can mix as you want with the dry one...

Fixing the velocity level , helps to keep the loudness of a drum sound or a loop sample in the main mix whithout having to hit the pad with a precise level  each time ...

IMO both functions are usefull ...

Yep. The rubber surface will allow that
On snaredrums positional sensing is a must, but who uses different positions on acoustic tom toms?

I agree with you , on toms it s not so usefull i guess , as the pads are smaller , and the sound of them realist enough , even without using the rim sound... but that could be different for other players...

Could you explain why positional sensing is possible only with rubber skins  ? Dont mesh skin deliver enough "diference" in term of sound to analyse the position by the waveform ..?

Maybe you could explain what positional sensing is and what it does? How does it help?

With a real snare drum ,the sound is different if you hit the the center of the skin or the edge of it ... positional sensing is a way to emulate this: by analising where you hit the pad ,it will trigger a fat snare sound at the center , and a more "ringing" sound if you hit the side of the skin...
it s a bit the same thing than the ride cymbal , with bell and bow sounds . That s done by analising the shape of the waveform of the pad input.

So this feature brings more realism , because it s not only the velocity who controles the way your snare sounds .

hello... got this idea while responding to another post ... it s maybe usefull to make a topi on it..

I ve read somewhere in the forum that positionnal sensing required to have the sensor in the middle of the pad ... like roland or hart ones ... I ve never had the opportunity to try positionnal sensing by myself , but a lot of users ask for that on the forum  , so i imagine it could be nice and usefull expand ...

I dont know if the center sensor design is pattented or not , but maybe 2box could release a special snare pad with this design ,  update the OS for positionnal sensing support and create some nice multizone snare sounds ... i imagine that more samples are needed ( center , and some sounds between center and side of the skin ) .This is not an issue , as hi hat and cymbals can handle more than one sound ...

Actual 12" snare pad could become a big 4th tom ... so no loss for kit users :)

... This could open possibilities for those who use center sensor based pads ,DIY or from other vendors ... I truly think its a way to sell more modules and make more people speak about 2box ...

DrumIt 5 Hardware / DDT triggers ... some users here ?

Does anybody use DDT Tom Trigger 12" Truss-System ?

http://www.musicstore.de/fr_FR/FRF/DDT-Tom-Trigger-12-Truss-System-inkl.-Kabel/art-DRU0015939-000

they seem to have a "roland cone like" design ...

Is the skin sensor less sensible to rim hits than a side sensor , like DDRUM pads and acoustic trigs or 2BOX pad.?

sweedish is not as hard to understand than i thought ...:)  (if you know what you re supposed to read..)

hi guys

one more wish for a future os ..

In KIT-ENVELOPE / LAYER , 2 more modes could be added :

USER :any trigger level will start the layer chosen by the user by tuning the velocity level . I think that MAX is not enough ,and could even be replaced by User mode with a value of 127.

VARIABLE USER : any trigger  will start  a semi-random layer as long as it is close to the user chosen level . Usefull to have a constant level and reduce "machine gunning"

thanx for reading and have a nice day ...

hi

I rendered some dsnd files with dsoundtool to see how sounds were layered ... at the beginning of some sounds , i noticed there was 1 millisecond of silence before sound starts ... is it a problem on the rendering with dsoundtool ? or maybe it was programmed like that... is it usefull ? what for? not sure its usefull or needed , if so all sounds would have this millisecond....

if anybody knows something about that...

1 millisecond of silence is not a lot.... sure , but without this millisec , triggering will be 25% quicker ... (according to ggianni who mesured :
Kick - Latency 3.87 + 0.13 ms
Snare - Latency 3.63 + 0.13 ms
HiHat - Latency 3.70 + 0.18 ms
Cymbal - Latency 5.3+ 0.9 ms
in this nice topic http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,491.0.html#msg6369 )

...what's wrong ?  i ll tell you:

-personnaly I dont like people who "show off" with useless posts saying "I rule " or name themselves "somethingMaster" when they dont know what RCA means...

-quite all your posts have so little to do with 2box Drumit5 and are useless , cause you allways ask help for yourself only ... its obvious that you dont like to do efforts to learn things by yourself ... so you have nothing to share with the community ... and that what forums are about... SHARING with others and try to dévelop ideas...

You remind me those spoiled children i didnt liked when i was young ... they allways wanted other people to do all the work for them ...

... I really dont see in what puttenvr or anybody  has to be jealous of you .... http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,536.0.html
and also  bad Karma and insults are not a problem for me ... as long as i can stay in this community , learn from and help people who really needs and deserve it , i'm allright ..

I m aware this is rude , sorry to other members , but you asked and I respond ...

so , enjoy this post , this is the last time i'm arguing with you ... because "you rule" !
