Would this circuit be suitable for connecting two 2Box cymbals to a single D5 cymbal input (losing the edge sensors and using them both as simple single zone cymbals)?

Is this something you would be prepared to sell/share?

Hi! Hmm...you can do this only with a split cable. No circuit requried.

For my piezo 2 switch hack...we will see if I do a product of it. I do see a personal need to create a solution for these dual Piezo cymbals...together with my Ride conversation module to adopt the signal to 2box 3 zone format. Another idea to utilize piezo to switch functionality is to use dual piezo pads + BT1 and combine the signal for the DrumIt Three's 3 zone snare implementation. (Which requires a Piezo/Switch/Switch implementation)

Is that to convert an acoustic cymbal?

It was either a Jobeky reel feel or diy silent cymbal...I don’t exactly recall. Customer was using both a td-12 and a td-20 which requires a piezo/switch/switch implementation for their three zone rides,

My idea in general by helping this customer was that a dual piezo on the same small e-cymbal surface are very hard to control. Both piezo’s will give signal regardless where you hit. And on Roland you have no option...you need a piezo/switch/switch implementation.

Going the piezo to switch conversation route...then you are able to control and set the threshold in a better way ... when the bell switch will fires.

It worked out extremely well!

Hi!

I recently helped a customer and custom designed a new kind to piezo to switch converter...(some similarities with the quite generic KRC stuff but with some design improvements + newer and more sensitive components)

The customer got very happy with the result...using a dual piezo+switch cymbal against his TD-12 for three zone rides.

Hmm...

Never happened to me...or even seen it mentioned on this forum. I have done many gigs live with my DrumIt Five.

Version on the OS on your DrumIt Five?

1. Right. No edge switch below the top cymbal, if also using a lower cymbal.
2. You will be fine with your Manfred box and the “new” diy hh.

thank you jman and thank all of you guys.

so, my question is this.
if i am to build a hi hat, that will work the same way as a cy-5, how should i wire it? how does a cy-5 work? obviously it has an edge switch. but how many piezos does it have? only one on the bow? because if it only has one, would that be the same as a 2box hi hat? the bow that i got, wouldnt be needed. or should i place 2 piezos and a switch? and if i have to use 2 piezos, one must be in bow and the other on edge? and how are they connected?? any help? otherwise perhaps i should get rid of my box, get a switch and a piezo to the bow and just use this like the original 2box hi hat? i am a bit confused....

The CY-5 is using one piezo and one switch. It is connected in a easy way...the Piezo is connected between tip and sleeve and the switch is connected between the ring and sleeve.

The piezo is located in the middle of the bow. The switch is on the edge.

The box...is that the current pedal box?

Hi!

It looks like you have a extremely tiny gap on the raw value on the 2box hh. How does it work in reality when playing? Not good?

I have to try my old 2box hh and see what values I get.

The Jobeky real feel hh will work with the Zourman hh conversion. The pedal is handled by a goedrum hh controller in the Jobeky solution.

The Jobeky real feel 3 zone ride is using dual piezo + switch...and will work to about 82%...right tweaked it could work in the 2box 3 zone mode if just using the bell piezo + switch. The Zourman Ride conversion module is for Roland cy-13R/CY-15R or ATV 18...they are all using a Piezo, switch, switch type of implementation.

Hello!

Here is an example to create a certain cymbal swell in AD2...which in the next step could be exported to dsnd using SDSE. They works pretty well in my di3/di5.

Hmm...

Then I would definitely suspect the SDcard or the cable anyway...

Have you any chance to borrow a known and working SD card?

It’s strange that the screen is just blank after booting.

It looks like the firmware / bootloader is ok and that problems starts when reading the OS from SD.

If you take out the SD card and try to boot. Do you get any error messages?

Hi!

If preparing a new card where you put all content, with your SD card in the Mac, please be sure to format it first in FAT32 format. (Or check if it is in FAT32)
Then you copy all content and OS to the SD card. You can download a fresh copy here : http://2box-drums.com/support/

You should now be able to boot on your module using the card.

Hi!

On the captured screenshot above, from the OP’s MAC You see exactly that he has been using the USB connection to his module. (Not the reading SD card directly in his MAC)

You can also see that this card is probably bigger than 4GB because there are other directories than the standard content.

So I am pretty sure he has ruined his card by hooking it up to his mac through usb.

On Mac...you don’t even need to save or copy any sounds or files to damage a SD card...it is enough to just connect the module over usb...and it will be gone.

Hi!

I have experienced this if the trigger settings is wrong with on one of the pads.

Like if you have a pad with two piezo....but have configured them as piezo switch.
