I am afraid not!

It is very many changes needed on both the trigger handling and also you need to add all the xtra sounds also...so I am guessing that will not happen. Then there could also still be legal issues to implement PS - an old Roland patent.

Yes, this module works also with any piezo/switch/switch implementation like the 3 Zone rides from Roland, ATV and Lemons.

The separation is not as good a pure piezo/switch implementation, because of it's nature based on the 2box volume detection bell implementation found on MKI. (Where the logics behind the solution is that a bell hit is generating a 10 db higher signal)

But a 3 Zone ride with this module will achieve better results compared to the original 2box MKI 3 zone cymbal implementation.

Thanks for good feedback!

The idea is to also 3 more cymbals in the PST7 Series. Coming up: 16,18 and 19 thin crashes. The 19" is the best I ever tried...I will also add the 14" hi-hat from the same series.

Then I will continue with my Pearl Crystal Beat kit...5 toms, kick and snare which also have been fine tuned with TuneBot. (A great tool - to get most out of the drums)

Setup guides and tips / Re: Additional cymbals

Hi best BaoRozzp!

I think this have been discussed earlier in another post: https://www.2box-forum.com/index.php?topic=5060.0

In general - you can only split triggers using the Tom inputs by using Padpp settings (not on the cymb inputs which are locked to piezo/switch)

The sound split need to done by editing mix and match the dsnd file in Lustark DrumIt manager and the DSound Manager. You can create a dsnd file which will give you a Tom sound on the main trigger and a Cymbal sound on the rim trigger.

Hope this brings some light into the issue.

Hi!

You should look for the HCAL page. Press unit mode button - hit the hi-hat or press the hi-hat button and then  press page down 2-3 times and you will see the hcal page.

If You want to reset the module the task is the following:

By pressing the more + kit button for more than 2 seconds at the same time - the system will show which dkit file it is using- probably the DrumIt3.dkit. If you change this by pressing prev or next - you can then select the DrumItInit.dkit file. After doing this, Just reboot the 2box system and your system are reset and starting with the default settings for everything. (No need to download and install all files again - they are untouched)

If you want to go back - you old config still remains in the DrumIt3.dkit.

As discussed - it could be a SD Card error which makes the 2box module to freeze. Another thing to check is if any changes have be done lately on the trigger settings. If any trigger have got a wrong trigger type defined - the 2box will temporarily freeze for some milliseconds to half a second...but it will not completely freeze the system - just occasionally and be lagging drum sounds when playing.

But my 2cents will be to try a new SD card.

You could use Lustark Drumit Manager and merge your old trigger settings into a new SD card with the MK2 OS build and all the new sounds. It will work perfect on your original 2box module and also leave your original SD card untouched. (The trigger settings and sound banks is stored in the same dkit file)

I actually made such a job for a customer (he sent me the right dkit file used on his old 2box module - which I merged into one of my offered SD cards with the latest OS/Sounds build installed) - maybe I should start offer this as a service at Zourman.com ! :-)

It looks like it is a quite advanced compression algorithm used - looking on the files with a sinus wave sample gives no indications what is going on. :-)

I have to try and see if the samples could be stored back in to waves again.

Hi All!

I recently tested the The Fame Pro Editor for Windows with one of my Paiste PST7 China 18 samples. (Bow + edge 77 + 82 layers.)

My original dsnd file was about 144 MB large. When compiling the original waves files in the Fame editor - it became 71 MB big DSND file. (Note: To be able to replay this file on 2box - the 1.40 OS needs to be loaded.)

I can not say that I am missing any sound information - looks like a great compression algorithm.

Note: Quite fun to see that Fame Pro/MusicStore don't think the editor is too good themselves...:-)

The editor also seems to encrypt/compress the DSND files - meaning that they also are reduced in size to about 50%. (But you must use v1.40 as the OS to be able to read the files)

Do you have the exact link to the hi-hat trigger you are suing from Go Edrum?
Is it the edge membran?

Our friends at 2box got the same info last week - so they will probably correct the error on the master on their website. Both the images for Drumit Three and the speedlight have faults.

As said on the 2box FB group. Huaxin have made two versions of the hi-hat. One 2box edition with a hall sensor and one with IR sensor. I am pretty sure that the Millennium edition is the IR version. (Same technology as ATV is using on hh)

I have both these hi-hats, one when evaluating the speedlight hh a couple of years ago - and then someone was kind of enough to send me the IR version for free - and hoping that I could make conversion module for it)

They look exactly the same from the outside.

The IR version will probably not work without any electronic adoptions. (It needs power and is probably totally out of range for the 2box hh input)

Hi!

To factory reset the module - just select and use the DrumItInit.dkit instead.

To change between different kit files - check the manual - page 10 at the bottom. https://2box-drums.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/2BOX-DrumIt-Five-MKII-User-Manual.pdf
(This is the hard way to learn! 🙂)
