General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Re: Edge protection at cymbals

And it is also available seperately to rework the cymbals.

I just received my 2Box hihat from Thomann and I also do not have this edge protection, what a shame... Where do you think we can get these protection so we can add it ourselves?

Other question: is the standard 2Box 14" cymbal the one to use either as a crash or a ride or do I have to buy an only-ride cymbal?

Thanks a lot!

Hi ROB219,

Awesome kit and sounds! Do you use stock sounds or some BFD2 ones? Because I love your sounds.

Yeah right but I never loosen the clutch, when I find my setting I don't touch it anymore, and I broke the plastic box that came with the board with my drill. :p

And with the plastic box I need a very strong magnet right?

Jman > Don't worry, it's impossible as the pedal/magnet can't touch the board, even when strongly pressing the pedal. I just have to keep the same gap (quite narrow here as it's my playing style) between the hi-hat cymbal and the top of the hi-hat stand and it's 100% safe. :)

I fixed the board with a phone leather case and some tape. It does not seem to move.

Here are the pics:

It's working like a charm, good to have some real HH sounds now (TD-20X sounds before)!

Thanks Jman for this useful post!

The packaging is very strange yes, as there is no mention of Lexar brand anywhere and the font of 'Memory Card' is very 'cheap'.

FYI, the genuine package looks like this:

Hi guyz!

Just received Manfred's hi-hat board and after a loooooong loooong setting (finding the proper magnet side, setting the good distance between it and the sensor, fixing properly the board etc), I can now say that it works like a charm!
I can't compare with an original 2Box hi-hat as I use the board with a Roland VH-12 but, even if it does not reach TD-20X hi-hat expressiveness, it's quite good and I'm happy with it!

Splash works great also and I get all the 5 sound steps to open the hi-hat.

Thanks again Manfred!

I have a question: are BFD2 samples as good when they are in a 2Box module (converted into .dsnd) than natively in BFD2? I mean, can we say the 2Box has the same sound quality than a good VST?

welcome aboard mate!!!!
why dont you post a pic of your kit!!!! take care
Oh you're right, here it is with my old TD-20X to still play my VH-12 (will receive Manfred's hi-hat board soon).

I switched from the TD-20X also ... and am not sorry at all .... Welcome to the forum!  8) J
Hello from France!
I'm quite new to this forum too, even if I have already posted, just skipped this section, sorry! :p

I sold my TD-20X module as well but kept all the pads, cymbals and rack (Roland is the best for quality pads to me), and it's amazing with my new 2Box module (with sd extension mod + 32gb sdhc)!

2Box forum is almost dead in France (in fact all e-drums forums lol), so I'm pleased to have found such an interesting one!

See you!

SD extension mod complete with a 32GB 133x Lexar pro! Works flawlessly (only tested stock kits so far), no latencies! So convenient to have the card in an external slot and so comfortable to have 32GB. :D

Thanks for your helpful posts guys!

Great, I bought some M616 and it fits great, thanks!

I never had a ddrum but listened to quite a few videos and I don't think it's better than 2Box... Especially for one obvious reason: a ddrum4SE could only store 20MB of data guys! Wake up! ;)
