Sorry mate, I sold it a few months ago. Whole thing went pretty cheap too, but anything for a quick sale. It was also to a mate so I get first dibs if he sells on.

The update addresses some bugs in the display, so no new features.

Yeah that's the one, I can't recall the actual address too though.

There is a German website that had all the 1.26 DI5 and now the DI3 voices. I can't think what the site is but I am sure someone here will be able to post the link. Alternatively, PM and I'll forward you any of the old sounds you are after (if I have them that is, I have 90% of them I think)

I am curious too! I have downloaded it, but not installed it on any of the modules (yet) If I get to do it tomorrow I'll report back here with any changes.

Here's a test, hit the edge of the ride, then do a fast roll on the bow with no other sounds (kick snare etc) only to test a single channel.
If you hear the edge cut off, i.e. it's still happening, it sounds like you're hearing the polyphony limitation of every channel.

Another option, is to get a cheap midi interface. That way you only record the midi information coming out of of the drumit3. If you have a VST installed on your computer, this can be used as a plug in in a recording software like Reaper or Cakewalk. You'll probably require some mapping hurdles to overcome for it to record like how you play however.

But that aside, you could also take the midi out of your laptop back into the module to edit/mix parts later. The benefit is that you can adjust drum sounds later before mix down. If you wanna got down that round, you would have separate tracks for each part of the kit (requiring some further muting of parts each time you want to have a separate track, unless someone has a better way of doing that) I did this many times. But it means if you have stereo channels for kick, snare, toms, cymbals and hats you can process them (eq, compression and effects) later before mix down.

The white noise you refer to could just be the tail-end "hiss" of the sample. Unfortunately this is hard to avoid when sampling. You can apply noise removers but this tends to affect the over all fidelity of the sound. What I do (as I find some of the ringy sounds too much) is shorten the decay just enough to cut off the "hiss" but it also cleans the sound up. Live this also works much better than really long ringy toms.

I'd guess this isn't a fault, just a characteristic of a long sustaining drum sound.

Hi!

I recently helped a customer and custom designed a new kind to piezo to switch converter...(some similarities with the quite generic KRC stuff but with some design improvements + newer and more sensitive components)

The customer got very happy with the result...using a dual piezo+switch cymbal against his TD-12 for three zone rides.

Best regards

Is that to convert an acoustic cymbal?

I concur, it was a bad batch of SD cards. Same happened to my 2nd module. A new card was sent promptly and replaced and it's been fine ever since. So don't worry, it's an easy fix. Just contact either the distribution, 2box directly or perhaps get the 32g mod. If you don't care about spending a about £80ish, I can guarantee you'll be much happier about having extra space and the ease of faster file transfers and not having to have the module connected in USB mode in which to do it.

Welcome the new guys. Hope you enjoy the module and this forum for any tips and advice we can provide!

It’s in unit menu. Its labelled as “save on/off” or something obvious. Change it to “on” and you’re good to go!

The short answer is No. It works completely differently to every other module hihat function. You could possibly use the cymbal part as a small trigger, but I don't know how well. i.e. whether the choke function will work and how many zones etc. If you have one, give it a try, see what happens!

I'd contact Diamond or Jobeky, they source rugged ones for their products. Otherwise just buy a bunch on 10mm ones off eBay. They'll cost pennies! But be prepared (if you're a regular player and perhaps a little on the heavy playing side) to have to replace it in time.

Drumit3 doesn’t send voltage down the ring of the jackout on kick output. Was a nice feature of the 5 when I had the kickdrum pad with the light on it. But when I went to Jobeky pads, that became redundant.
