Hi all

We're aware people aren't getting the activation emails - sorry about that - we're working on it!

Quick Update...turns out it's because the forum's on a shared server and some muppet had some dodgy scripts running on a website hosted at the same IP address. Gah! The web host is on the case with Hotmail and hope to get it fixed in the next few days.

In the meantime, please go ahead and register, and send me an email with your username and registered email address to:

stickman  {{at}} universalconstructors   {{dot}}  {{com}}

(I'll let you guess the correct format :))

I'll activate your accounts manually.

Thanks
Tom

Evening all
Went back down to Wembley Drum Centre and the good folks let me have another session, this time with a little netbook and tascam outboard soundcard with me.

Had a freaking great time :D

Here's some clips - except for a few fade-outs here and there and some cack-handed attempts at removing some nasty clicks that were caused by a slow hard drive or something, there's no EQ, reverb, compression, nuttin' altering the sound coming out of the brain except for maybe the 'mp3 effect'...

I didn't really have time to do too much adjusting of the kit, so you'll probably notice some (mostly unintentional!) flamming of the kick - shoulda loosened that puppy up, as I play mine flabby :)

Oh and I lost the pieceof paper with the kit names on relating to the clips, so I had to make up the names...Will try to put names to clips at some point.

I've installed a youtube plugin so to celebrate, here's my favourite clips...post up yours!

Couldn't start anywhere except for Bengt himself introducing the kit :)

Tony Liotta showing off the response and dynamic range...

Shame about the background noise, but some nice snare work and check out those toms...

Our own Simpan's first stroll through the 2box park...

...To post, paste the regular youtube URL between the square bracketed youtube BB code thing,  and give it some of that.

Trade sales / Wembley Drum Centre
August 17, 2009, 09:50:22 PM

Wembley Drum Centre is like a walk-in paradise for drummers - go through the double-door airlock and you step into a space full of absolutely beautiful acoustic kits.

They've also got rooms devoted to Roland and Yamaha, with space being made for the new kid on the block (with the best ancestry mind you) - the 2box drumit five :) Friendly staff who know their stuff are on hand to help, and there are many demo e-kits to try out...If you're a percussionist living anywhere near North London you've got no excuse not to check it out.

Other e-drum systems / The Free VST plug-ins thread
July 22, 2009, 08:32:16 AM
Calling all music producing drummers!

I make use of a lot of free VSTs in my tunes - some of them crash Sonar, others work great. I'll post up my go-to plug-ins here, let us know if you have any beauties yourself.

In no particular order:

beta bugs audio VST plug-ins - I love "Crayon Filter". A lot. The whole plug-in bundle is good though.

Tweak Bench - tidy stuff up with Cairo, smash it up with Mashup, soothe it down with Padawan. Loads of great effects and synths here.

AudioNerdz - Delay Lama - Even if you never use it in a tune, you should grab this plug-in, load up some loops, and lose yourself in ambient noodly throat-music for a while.

Code Audio - for a very very dirty 303 line, try Squeekbox. Fat and ugly, just like yo' momma :D

Delemancha - ballistic plug -in (drum sampler) This one ain't free (it's $10) but all the proceeds go to Cancer Research UK. Quick and simple to use for building beats within your sequencer.

More to come as they pop into my head.

Freaky, this post has been eaten!

Ok, so the gist of what this post used to say is: BUYERS AND SELLERS BEWARE! - there are some dodgy mofos out there who want nice music gear and money for free. Please always be careful when giving out personal details etc.

Any bad stuff happens here and we'll happily do what we can to make sure the relevant authorities are told about bad people.

This website and its moderators reserve the right to remove posts with no warning.

If you are a trade seller, please get in touch with me if you want to advertise.

Trade on!

Hi there

This place is becoming a useful resource for people who are looking for information, advice, sort out technical problems, or just let off steam about the 2box drumit 5 - we've got some great regular posters who really know what they're talking about (you know who you are :))

I've personally been anticipating the release of the Drumit 5 for a very long time - I've had my DDrum 4 SE kit for something like 12 years and while I love it to death still, the tiny 8mb of RAM is really showing its age, and the heavily compressed sounds could really do with the 24-bit treatment.

Most of my music output these days is done in my small studio, so I am really enthusiastic about the specifications 2box are ramming inside the Drumit 5 for drummers and producers.

Please do register and join us on the forum and tell us your story!

Thanks
Tom
