Still going strong but madly limited in my free-time. Hopefully some kind of semi-retirement next year.

Sorry, I have a Drumit 5 MkI and don't know if the mount is similar.

Never underestimate the power of the selfhealing 2box ;)

Thanks Murgen, and belated thanks for the reply. I ended up buying 2 used  buttkicker concerts with a buttkicker 1000 aAmp and mounting platform . So I should be good for now
Have fun, buttkicker makes a real difference, does it not?

General chit-chat / Sina Drums on RipX

This is a great video about how to use RipX to create drum-less tracks. Beware for copyright issues using them on public media. I just finished my drumcabin and creating some tracks now. :)

I will post pictures soon. Building up my Pearl MHX and rack with mesh-heads from Drum-Tec, 2Box triggers are waiting to be attached. Cleaned the Mk1 module bottom-cover with a cloth drenched in methylated spirit, which removed the sticky layer completely. Wish I had proper triggers for my Giant Beat cymbals bit for now I will continue with my brass Gen16's and default cymbals from 2Box. I also use part of the 2Box rack to attach the electronic equipment.

I just started dismantling my Drumit 5 setup to rebuild it into an A2E setup and I tested a cloth with methylated spirit on the sticky back and that works.

Yes, we are back!

I built a drum-cabin in 2004 with only 3 sound-leaks: the ceiling (under the roof so the birds hate me), the outer wall which acts like a giant amplifier (I can also hear the piano downstairs, I'm on the second floor) and the only real issue is the floating floor, kick-pedal is a nuisance. However, kids grewup and left the house and my wife does not care :) Time to bring the cabin back to live.

Hey man, sorry to hear of your health woes, even if it was a long time ago.

Tips for A2E conversion, first up, get a quality set of mesh heads. Drumtec real feel are highly regarded. They do a Pro one too, which feel even more close to acoustic. Though will still need a decent amount of tension to tigger well, but that's true of them all.

Roland Powerply are okay, I would avoid the Remo silent strokes.
I guess its just down to triggers. The 2box Trigit work fine, easy to install without having to unscrew any lugs. As do Ddrum ones. If it was me and I wad going Ddrum I would go for the Chrome Elite ones. The Yamaha ones are also very well built!

But if you want the stealth look, depending on where you are in the world, you have a lot of choice.

As for the triggering side of things, assume it's like the 2box pads (as it basically will be) so set up the trigger settings as you would with the 2box pads.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your pointers, Drumtec is on top of my list and you emphasised the reason.

Thinking about adding a Throne Thumper with an adapter for US power , or a Butt Kicker in my 8 by 10 drum room . What brand and model transducer and amp combo have others used in a similar space? I won't be gigging with it. Also what amp. I am not stuck on either brand or model of transducer or amp

I'm using the Pearl throne thumper which works for me.

Ever since my heart-attack back in 2014 my Pearl MHX silver sparkle has been sitting in it's cases. Patiently waiting for better times. My Drumit 5 Mk1 hardware is 10 years old now and triggers are fine but plastic notches start to break now. I decided to put mesh-heads on the Pearl and get me a set of Drumit-triggers. I'm gonna try to make the Mk1 module feel less sticky and pickup my sticks again to play. I have got all the hardware so it is just a matter of ordering the mesh-heads, triggers and disassemble the 2Box setup and put back the Pearl stand and all hardware.

Question: any pointers or wise words of advice by the esteemed ladies and gentlemen on this forum?

And yes, he is alive and very busy in real life. :)

Regards, uncle Murgen
