Gibraltar is just one brand that makes a compatible tom arm.

Do you guys have the link or part # to the rack clamp and cymbal arm from Gibraltor? I'm not sure which ones I should look for on the website. Thanks!

Hi,

As a Drumit 5 user in Boston, I posted this a while ago and it should be exactly what you are looking for.

Yes you can. If I understand right, you can only record as audio (not MIDI). So two ways to record audio, both doable in Garage Band:

1. Get some sort of monitor or amplifier for 2Box, play it out loud, and use iPad's mic to record. (poor quality for sure)
2. Get something like the iRig (http://www.ikmultimedia.com/irig/features/), so that you can plug the iRig into the iPad's headphone output to record 2Box through line-in.

Hope this helps.

Hey William,

As a Drumit 5 user in the US, I posted this a while ago and it should be exactly what you are looking for.

Does 2Box make one module for the entire world? That is, do they modify their units so that they will work in different countries? I live in the US and want to know what 2Box does to make their units work here. Do they wire the modules differently, or do they just use a different adapter? Someone that I know told me not to buy from a foreign country because I could have problems with the power even if I use an adapter.
Thanks

Hi US Drumit 5 users (especially the potential ones),

I just want to share what I bought to replace my previous transformer-converter-Drumit5adapter setup which was very clumsy and the transformer kept drawing energy even not in use...

The power adapter I bought to replace is:
http://www.markertek.com/Power-Related-Equipment/A-C-Power-Supplies-Equipment/412-218054.xhtml?412-218054

The page contains the tech specs for the adapter as well. If the page goes dead, the product name is "Mouser Electronics Plug-In AC Adapter" with P/N 412-218054.

With this I can just plug from the power outlet directly to Drumit 5 without transformer nor converter. Now I can really rock on the kit without worrying the transformer being too hot!

Hope this helps,
To

I have a similar situation for one of my 2 cymbals too! (in the U.S.)

The bell and choke doesn't seem to trigger consistently given I have tried all the thres, gain settings in the module. Then I was told to test the cymbal hardware by taking off the input jack. Looks like the wires of the cymbal are kind of causing the problem. I'm not sure what exactly needs to be done though...

I am considering getting this kit and would like to hear a clean groove on it. It would be great to hear 16th notes on the hi hat because many kits sound bad doing this.

Peter

This is the demo from the 2Box website. I find this quite reflective of what I actually hear when I play my own one (of course I spent quite some time getting a good mix...)

Same here buddy...same here

Same (almost) here too!

When I first got the kit a month ago, the choke and bell trigger for one of the 2 cymbals were not working. After asking Scottie for advice (thanks!) I dissembled the mount and the wires were fine. When I put it back again and played, every single hit was choked!! I repeated the procedure and moved the wires a bit, and it seems fine now.

Obviously the wiring inside the cymbal mount is extremely sensitive in terms of placement...I wonder if there is a robust way to get around with that? Otherwise I think it will come back again and it will be nasty when all of a sudden each hit is choked during a live show  :-[...

Hi sugiken,

I suppose that you have got the OS 1.10?

If you have it, try to raise the gain of the Cymbal B and hit the bell.

Yes, it's OS 1.10. I've tried from 0db up to 10db gain for both cymbals. I don't want to set the gain too high like >10db since I need some dynamic range for playing the bow area...looks like I will need to follow up with the UK distributor. thank you all for the input!

when you say "NO BELL", do you mean that you aren't getting any triggering at all, or that the wrong zone is being triggered?

The wrong zone, which is the middle ride sound (referred to bow right?), is always triggered, no matter how close and how hard I hit the bell area. I do the same to the other cymbal, and it's almost always giving the right trigger...

Hi,

One of the 2 cymbals (referred as CymbalB below) of my Drumit 5 has never been able to trigger a bell sound. I have tried a combination of conditions, it seems to me that the cymbal hardware itself might be the issue. Here are the conditions (using the same sample-Legacy 21 ride, same gain (6dB) and thres (-40dB) for all conditions):

Using Cym1 output:
1. Cable A; CymbalA - BELL
2. Cable A; CymbalB - NO BELL
3. Cable B; CymbalA - BELL
4. Cable B; CymbalB - NO BELL
Using Cym2 output:
5. Cable A; CymbalA - BELL
6. Cable A; CymbalB - NO BELL
7. Cable B; CymbalA - BELL
8. Cable B; CymbalB - NO BELL

Does anyone have suggestion about what can be done here to help? Will I be able to get a replacement if it is indeed malfunctioning?

Other than the cymbal issue, I'm very impressed and satisfied with the product when comparing the specs & price with other existing e-drums. This Drumit 5 arrived to my apartment in Boston, USA two weeks ago from StudioXChange in the UK, and I have been playing it about 1-2hrs every day since!!  GOOD JOB 2BOX! KEEP IT UP! Looking forward to the upcoming kit editor!!!

Thanks for the replies. I just bought a transformer and a UK-to-US plug to use the original 2BOX power adapter, and it WORKS and no more noise! Now I need to focus on getting the crosstalks, hi-hat calibration, volume etc. sorted out. And of course I need to focus on ENJOYING it!

I just got mine earlier this week from StudioXChange in UK too. Their service is great! Mine got shipped via DHL and the price with shipping is ~2250 US$.

I am still in the process of getting the kit sound right...I bought an adjustable output (3.5V,6V,9V etc.) power adapter from Best Buy and set it to 9V hoping I don't need a voltage converter (UK to US). With that, I am able to turn on the module and navigate through, yet I am hearing just noise from the headphone when hitting the pads  ??? ???

Has anyone seen the same situation before?
