For anyone who is interested, I've had a bracket made to allow quick and easy assembly and pack up for the kick drum pad.
It's basically the same 'black' part of the bracket but it now has slots instead of wholes. It means I don't have to take the wing nuts all the way out and loose them in the dark during pack up.
