Title: Cross talk between tom rims and head
Post by: stovsa on October 18, 2018, 09:05:06 AM
Hi everyone,

This is my first post. Last week I became the proud owner of a 2box Drumit3 and a brand new Jobeky edrum kit which I had shipped to Australia. Unfortunately I've run into non stop problems since.

Jobeky has recently arranged a replacement trigger be sent out to fix a range of issues with the kick drum so I'll leave that for now. My next concern on the list is some serious cross talk between the tom rims and mesh head. I've outlined the steps I took in the video and have also tried playing with the rim gain levels to no avail - even with rim gain on 0, the crosstalk is still audible and the rim itself is then so quiet, it becomes next to useless. Mask times, curves and thresholds have all been tweaked. I'm thinking that maybe I don't have the right magical combination.

I do think it's worth mentioning that the snare drum has been working well with the same settings used on the toms (which were there by default). The trigger is mounted in the centre of the snare whilst the toms are on the side. I feel this physical difference could be a factor.

Please watch my video and offer ANY advice you can. I will try all fixes mentioned and post more videos if need be.

Thanks in advance

I just want to reply that since making this post, Jobeky have offered to send out new triggers for all the toms, centrally mounted ones.
I'll reply to this post when and if I'm able to get them installed.

Cheers
