Tom has been pretty busy lately. I went ahead and created a new category for the Drumit Three. So, have fun gang! J

Thank you sir, still waiting on your take on the new box. Just wish they would’ve added 2 more cymbal inputs this time instead of having to split zones. Still, I like it so far.

What's to say? It has the same sound quality and capabilities as the D5, more compatibility with other brand pads (and still compatible with 2Box pads) and you really only loose 2 outputs and some buttons that weren't really needed and everything can still be done with the buttons now on the D3. Additionally they fixed that weird EQ thing on the Headphone mix that we could never put our finger on with the D5. And it is priced low .... winner in my book.

Thanks, I’m new to the 2box module world and it is light years ahead of what I’m used to. Coming from a DM10 module using it thru AD2 I wanted to get away from the computer but still use the kits from AD2. I truly considered the Mimic (I know it’s best module on the market) but just could not justify the cost for my needs. When I saw that 2box had went to universal pads with the drumit3 and it could accept the 32gb sd card mod, it was a no brainer at it’s price point. So far I have no regrets.

Amazed to get a new product from 2box! Any idea if the new 4GB library is going to be made available to us DrumIt Five module users??

All the sounds of the Drumit Three will work on the Drumit Five. One of the members of this forum previously had all the Drumit Three content on a site where it could be downloaded ...... for a while. 2Box doesn't have Drumit Three sound files posted right now, but I imagine they will put it up at some point. There is also an OS update coming for the Drumit Five and it will have the same 1.32 OS like the Drumit Three, only configured slightly dif. for the dif. in the Drumit Five's inputs and additional ouputs.

Thanks Jman, that's awesome to hear. So does the 4GB library have a lot more than was previously available on the Five or is it a lot of the same? And are there any standout updates on the 1.32 OS that would be worth having?

About 1/2 (2GB) of the D3 sounds are brand new sounds. And a lot of the other sounds are ones that were already up on the 2Box website but not on the D5 like the Cube Beech stuff for example. If you download the D3 manual you can see features and changes that are in the new OS. It is definitely worth doing. A few things off the top of my head: You can assign a pad rim to change kits. You can now assign a fixed Hi Hat and choose any of the open to closed transitions as the fixed sound. For new snares (including new ones you build yourself with the new Editor or SDSE) that have 3 zones you can choose Crosstick or Rimshot sound for your rim .... whereas previously with the D5 you would have to find a cross-stick sound in the folder and assign it, now they will be part of the Dsnd file so you can just go to instrument and choose via the +++ like 3 zone ride sounds. There are new settings for Piezo/Piezo pads that make it a little better for dialing in other brand pads. ...... to name a few.

Wow, sounds awesome/worth doing!

FWIW, the only things I found 'lacking' from the current firmware was

and

I understand why both of those might be problematic/impossible (MP3 might need a costly license, reverb might be too intensive an effect on the CPU to process) but would be awesome if they did find a way.

Jman, on your 32gb card mod, are the drumit3 sounds preloaded or do I need to pull them off the factory SD card? Haven’t had time to compare them yet. Thanks

Hi, I emailed this info when I shipped:
FYI, the card will load just like the original module with all the stock kits, etc. I also have all the extra kits and sounds that are available on the net, or the D5, plus the eNerd kits. So, you start off with lots of good stuff, and plenty of room for more. All the additional kits are in alphabetical order after the original Drumit Three kits. And of course if you don't want some of the extra kits or sounds you can easily delete anything you don't want from the module. Talk to you soon, Jerry
