My Stealth Hi Hat with Drumit 5 Controller

OK .... so I took the easy route on this one. I robbed the jack/PCB from my Drumit Five Hi Hat and used it for my own Hi Hat conversion. Result is I have my 2 zone HH working with my Drumit 5 kit now. I installed a magnet on the bottom of my DW HH stand ... cool stand for this as the chain attaches via a screw/bolt ... so I replaced the standard screw with one an inch longer, inserted a spring magnet and lock nut. Put the D5 jack/PCB in a box, attached that to the stand base, used a stereo splitter to connect the module with the controller and my 2 zone HH cymbal .... The result is as I had hoped ... I have the same function on my own hat now as I had with the 2Box hat. Here are the pics:

I updated the links in this thread as I have changed my on line storage space.

I am resurrecting this thread because I have had several people ask me about using my Hi Hat conversion cymbal or other brands with the 2Box module.

For now the only solution is a little spendy, and requires removing the HH PCB from a 2Box HH. Obviously this is not recommended for all, and you will doubtless void any warranty if you go this route. But it is possible to put the 2Box HH back together again if the surgery is done with Pre-thought and planning. Be sure to label each wire. Clipping the wires in the center and labeling each side is one easy way. That way if you are not a great solderer you will not have to de-solder or solder at the PCB. Later a tiny solder splice of the wires with heat shrink tubing to cover the splice will put the 2Box HH back together. That is what I did after Manfred built a batch of boards, I built a new box out of Manfred's board and put the 2Box board and HH back together, working good as new.
