Problem with the hihat
« on: March 30, 2010, 06:02:51 PM »
I got my 2box yesterday and I'm totally happy with everything so far - except for one thing.
I can't get the hihat to work properly. The screw to attach the hihat (the rubber hit-part) to the stand (upper part).
I can not pull the screw any harder so I can therefor not open the hihat (it wont lift).
I guess I could put some material around the stand so it will lock but that's anoying when it doesn't work directly.
Anyone else had this problem?

Embarrassing... I probably was to excited when setting up the set....
Problem solved when putting the screw from the other side...  ::)

I still got some difficulties getting the right sound and feel from the hihat.
Hope it solves after reading through the posts here.

Make sure the unit has the latest O/S version 1.04.  This has the new hi-hat calibration which improves the hi-hat playability.  You can check the O/S version when the unit boots up.

If you have an earlier O/S, you can download the latest O/S from the 2Box website and update your unit.  Hope this helps.

definitely make sure you have the 1.04 firmware installed.

once you've set the pedal down and pedal up points in the module, i find it helps a lot to then move the hihat further up the stick, so that you have a larger distance where the hihat is sensed as being fully open...

Thx for your replies!
I think I saw somewhere that the OS is 1.04 so I'll give it a try tonight!
Cheers!
