ok thanx for that. i have now the snare super tight but the kick tight, but not so much as there was too much rebound for my liking. i will probably use a stitch though i also have my moms sweater sleeve she made for my kick , lol

Hi, has anybody had any experince with breaking tom heads? I have had the original mesh for quite a while but had to replace it. Now I have had two new ones each break after 30 minutes of playing... Any ideas?

No they are perfect. Even tried different sticks each time. Both brand new.

it s possible that the edge of the tom where the meshhead sits , is a bit sharp ....  do you break them close to the edge ?? try with tour finger if it feels "smooth"

something eles ,  lowcost single ply meshheads , like pearl , tama or Tdrum are weak ...  in fact ,if you pay 2 or 3 time more for a roland or DDT one , it will last longer  than 3 lowcost ones ... at the same time , you ll  get sharper triggering and better stick response ...

I m DIYing drum pads , and for my first steps i used those cheap pearl & tama meshheads because had bought a bunch of them really really cheap ...  it was ok then but as my kit is finished now , i ve equiped it with DDT dual ply , and it feels much better ....

Based on my own experience , the Tdrum are by far the weakest , the tama and pearl last a bit longer , but all 3 have a shitty soft stick response and a too elastic rebound .....

I also had 2 of those heads heads with a default , causing them to break just after i installed them ....

Thanks for the info! No they break right in the middle. I'll check out the DDT 2-ply meshheads and see if this works better. Are they much louder?
